Please give us a short summary of your website?
This is for those who like their tech talk in palatable lay terms. Touch base with the latest security issues as they hit the street. Ranging from personal security - seniors home alone, women and physical and mental self confidence - home business security, business surveillance, computers, and the big picture.
What made you set up this site.
As a qualified, certified private investigator I found surveillance too boring to bear - sitting staring, waiting all day/night, pissing into a bottle. What else am I going to do, I say? Let's help folks feel more secure with an online security store for the budget-savvy. And include lots of reports, resources, feeds and such for added value. Now we're talking.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
The online store made it into cyberspace Dec 31, 2007. I met my goal for that year. The blog supports this store.
This has all the products for personal security, business surveillance, home alarms, school surveillance and spy equipment. There is an expanding FAQ section to help with tech jargon and acronyms that come with the product descriptions.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
That is a good question. Next time I might do better. It's a dilemma. You have to have a title that's good for search engine optimization - so it will attract the search engines to list your site.
And this means it's not easy to create a snappy title to attract the browser's eye. So I use Surveillance Equipment and Personal Security in the URL and the title and I call it SEaPS for short - my own goddamn acronym. But now you are in the know!
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
That is the litmus test, hey! Because of the PI background, and because I'm a keen writer - freelancer, ghostwriter, crime fiction, articles and reports, non-fiction books - I'm combining both spheres of skills within the blog and the online store.
That means you get great products with bottom-end pricing, and I pump out quality reports and articles on things like, do you need extra home security for your home-based business, and online dating: how to ensure personal protection from schemers.
Yeah, it's extra info and links and rss feeds and stuff to give the visitor and customer real value for their time on the site.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
I want a steady flow of customers for my online store. I want to be the place folks come to develop and consolidate their security awareness and DIY-security product purchasing.
I want to help folks rethink their approach to the locks on their doors and those open windows and their level of fear as they walk down the street. That will do for starters.
