San Antonio Home Monitoring Interview

By Interviewer at 10/23/09 21:30

Name of your website?

San Antonio Home Monitoring

Your name?

Peter Risman

Your Location (city, etc)

San Antonio

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Home Security Systems for San Antonio families.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I found there was a need to provide information on security systems, and an easy way to schedule a free assessment, for families in San Antonio searching for Home Security Systems.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

First website launched was in 2007 - Inside Story Design (http://www.InsideStoryDesign.com)

How did you decide on a name for your website?

I chose a name that described exactly what the website offers - home monitoring systems for San Antonio families.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

Most websites in this field are product related, and difficult to find online. http://www.SanAntonioHomeMonitoring.com is packed with information, and should eventually be highly visible in online searches. It is also dedicated to the needs of families, and was written with their interests in mind.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

I intend to keep the site for income.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

The website has just launched, so it has yet to pay for itself.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would invest more in the graphic design, and add much more content.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

No problem!

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

So far, nothing out of the ordinary or worth mentioning.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Developing interesting and valuable content has required significant research, analysis, and copywriting.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Too soon to tell, but I anticipate organic search to be the overwhelming method for promoting the site.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It hasn't yet...!

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

I will continue to add new content and revise the website's structure for at least 6 months before considering the effort a failure.

What is your website address?
