Biometrics in the Airport

By Website Introductions at 07/27/08 15:57

For many years now, people have been annoyed with airport officials because of the large time it takes, sometimes, just to confirm that you really are who you claim you are. You have to show a lot of documents that will be inspected one by one.

So, this time, passengers who are bound to the US will just have to let their fingerprints to work for them. More information about this on Inquirer.Net

Divorce awarded because of Youtube

By Website Introductions at 07/26/08 16:19
Now the privacy gets more little and little as the people themselves are exposing themselves to the public.

Just recently, a judge granted a man the divorce he was applying for after the judge saw the Youtube video in which the wife was ranting about the man and their relationships. Seriously, who is sane enough to do those things? More details here in CNN.

Why are my funds on-hold after a full tank of gas?

By Website Introductions at 07/25/08 14:21
Do not be surprised when your debit card's funds get on-hold after you fill up your tank to its fullest. This occurs when your bank's debit card reaches its limit--which it usually does when you fill up a tank.

There are still other reasons, however, that explains this. Learn more about them here at this news report by CNN.

Facebook image used as an evidence in crime

By Website Introductions at 07/19/08 15:22
Evidence may now be easier to find for prosecutors, thanks to social networking services like Facebook. The case: A picture of a party goer wearing a jail suit for a costume party was used by prosecutors of a physical-injury case to prove that the accused was unrepentant of his crime. The verdict: the judge believed this and sentenced the convict to jail. Apparently, the image was posted in Facebook.

CSI-inspired suicide?

By Website Introductions at 07/17/08 15:31
Now, now, who would ever think that CSI would have so much influence on people that they will actually try it at home? Bad move. If it was, indeed, taken from CSI, then the case would have been easily solved.

What case, you ask? Well, you will just have to read this CNN article to find out.

Obama supports surveillance law

By Website Introductions at 07/12/08 12:39
Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama received a lot of negative calls from supporters when he changed his mind and signed up a national surveillance law giving immunity to telecommunication companies that have been used by the government to spy on suspected terrorists.

Groups have called this an act betraying the trust of his supporters, but Obama said that this is one of the critical decisions any potential President would have to make. It's the choice between national security and privacy.

Powerless Google

By Website Introductions at 07/08/08 15:27
For a long time now, people have believed that Google will do its best to protect the extremely large amounts of data that we users give to them everyday. A lot of us believed that the company is really sticking out with their "Do No Evil" policy.

But it seems like that the threat of privacy invasion does not come from them. It actually comes from the lawyers.
