Name of your website?

London School of Locksmiths

Your name?

Juliet Kirkwood

Your Location (city, etc)

London

Please give us a short summary of your website?

The London School of Locksmiths website provides thorough information about our courses on offer, contact deatils, downloadable application forms and a very useful frequently asked questions page.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I have run several my own businesses since the age of 24, and have found the web an extremely cost and time effective way of communication.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

My first website was an online costume shop called Pink Target.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Well, it's basically the name of my business...

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

Most locksmith and locksmith school websites lack creativity... I wanted to create a site that would stand out from the rest whilst remaining user friendly.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

My goal is to attract as many locksmith students as I can, take on more staff, and to be fully booked all year round.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Very nicely, thank you!

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Not a lot. It was put together on a shoe string, and it does everything we need it to do.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes, we have a fantaastic team behind us, and we are keeping an eye on our top students for future employment after they have gained some locksmithing experience.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Let's just say one of our company vans has been our worst enemy lately...

What has been your biggest challenge?

Dealing with mechanics!

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Word of mouth... Google... and The Association of Professional Locksmiths Website www.professionallocksmiths.org.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

I have over 10 company websites, and this one has been one of the least complicated to create and maintain...

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

It has been going since earlier this year, and we intend it to run as long as we are trading.

What is your website address?
