Today I did my regular rounds to get a good laugh on one of my favorite websites, FailBlog. I stumbled on one of their post. You can also check the attached image in this article. Admittedly, I laughed but after a while I realized there's something different about it.
How can someone who was able to create a Facebook account, doesn't know how to remove a single 'shout' on their profile box? That very thought prompted me into making my own research and was surprised that there is actually something wrong about it.
Apparently, the owner of the Facebook account was hacked. The poor Tracy was a victim of a group of hackers from the message-board site 4Chan.org. I found that some elite members of this website acquired quite a number of username and passwords of a Christian community in Facebook.
They launched a number of attacks on these Facebook profiles including the one on the attached photo. They went inside the account, posted obscene photos and messages pretending to be the real owner and pretending that they accidentally posted things which is very embarrassing in nature and that for some certain reason, they can't delete.
4Chan.org did not just targeted Facebook users. They also managed to hack their way inside other people's social networking accounts such as Myspace and Twitter. The alarming part is that they were also able to access emails and Paypal accounts of people.
The problem has not been resolved yet, so I recommend all people to change and strengthen your passwords. Do not visit suspicious websites as well as clicking links sent via your emails. Be sure to change your passwords after renting a computer on shops.
