E-commrece site offering a wide selection of CCTV security systems, video security cameras & accessories, and surveillance system recording/monitoring devices.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
The need to supplement retirement income.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
Our first website was launched in April, 2007 and it was , in fact, the subject website.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
The site is a combination of the first names of the site joint proprietors coupled with the underlying keyword, "security".
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
It's operator is damned determined to make it successful!
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
The goal from inception has been to retain the site for income.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Quite unfavorably at present, but we are determined to improve that situation substantially.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
We would add more sites.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes. We would make it so noticeable to our supplier that he would be forced to respond positively!
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Nothing has been unexpected, but the state and county regulations have proved to be a pain!
What has been your biggest challenge?
Addressing the army of entities attempting to make money off of our venture.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
We have not yet determined the most successful activity, but we are hoping it will be linking.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Expectations from the outset have proved realistic. If anything, we may have underestimated the number of institutions attempting to profit from our venture.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
We have operated the site for about eight months, and are prepared to contine attempting to increase traffic until we run out of money. Actually, if we approach funds exhaustion we will alter our strategy, hopefully averting such a catastrophy.
What would you like to do that you have not yet done?
I would like to meet some of your "cantankerous" editors since I myself often qualify as such.
